Welcome to an inspiring modern duplex packed full with creative design solutions. Envisioned by n232 Arquitectura and located in Arnedo, La Rioja, Spain, the 160 sqm apartment was developed according to the needs of a young couple, who wanted a personalized living space: “The spatial solution is not conventional, due to the flip of the floor use found in a traditional duplex. The main access and social area are in the upper level, while the bedrooms and more private zone are in the lower one”, explained the architects.
The open plan social zone (expanding in a deck terrace) is enhanced by a number of elements providing character and functionality: “the stairwell divides the kitchen from the living and dining area; a column covered with mirrors gives back polyhedral vision of the place; and finally the black background cupboard that provides different use depending of the space: library, multimedia shelves, wardrobe, electrical cabinet, main door, toilet door, chalkboard”. The lower floor of the 0710 Duplex project is characterized by a more protective and intimate approach. Enjoy the details!
If you believe that green does not work in a trendy and minimal contemporary bedroom, then think again! A green accent wall is easy to shape and it brings that much needed warmth to an otherwise cool and mundane interior. Just repeat the color in the room using vivacious bedding, accessories, nightstands or even a couple of lovely vases and you have an inviting bedroom that is both energetic and relaxing. Those who feel that an accent wall in green or décor are not your thing can still add the color by placing a couple of potted plants to fill up those empty corners. It is an easy, eco-friendly and healthy choice to turn to that will instantly alter the mood in the bedroom.
Green in the girls’ bedroom coupled with pink works surprisingly well and it elegantly complements other colors such as brown and orange as well. Working with more than 3 or 4 bright colors in a room requires great care, perfect planning and a hint of ingenuity that lets each hue standout even while blending with the overall look. While it does sound like a risky proposition, get it right and you will have a playful kids’ room that is a visual treat.
