Spreading over only 34 square meters, this small apartment is located in a new residential development in Gdansk, Poland. Suitable for a single person or even a couple, the cozy apartment responds to both the needs of young owners, but also to a trend in Polish market, where many young singles or couples can only get mortgage for small apartment for starters. Designed by Helena Michel and Adam Michel of Michel Design Studio, in collaboration with carpenter Konrad Ordecki and developer RAI Przedsiebiorstwo Budowlane, the contemporary flat shows that style comes in any size. Functionality is the main feature of this compact living space, beautified with a selection of stylish details.
Upon entering the apartment, a translucent partition wall hides the elegant interior design. The living spaces are compacted in one large space, including the living zone, elegant kitchen, dining space and bedroom/sofa. Displaying customized furniture throughout – from kitchen cabinets, living space furniture, bathroom and wardrobe – the apartment was carefully constructed to function as a stylish background for a dynamic lifestyle. A powerful focal point is the kitchen backsplash – glass printed on the backside was mounted on the wall, creating an easy to clean, colorful detail. Lined with black glass sheets, the radiators in the living space and kitchen area match the dark furniture and reinforce the designer’s attention to details. Light grey color gres tiles on the bathroom walls and dark grey gres tiles on the floor compose a natural colored environment, perfect for a relaxing bubble bath, don’t you think?
If you believe that green does not work in a trendy and minimal contemporary bedroom, then think again! A green accent wall is easy to shape and it brings that much needed warmth to an otherwise cool and mundane interior. Just repeat the color in the room using vivacious bedding, accessories, nightstands or even a couple of lovely vases and you have an inviting bedroom that is both energetic and relaxing. Those who feel that an accent wall in green or décor are not your thing can still add the color by placing a couple of potted plants to fill up those empty corners. It is an easy, eco-friendly and healthy choice to turn to that will instantly alter the mood in the bedroom.
Adding green to the bedroom is easy if you already have a muted color scheme going in the room. It is a color that works beautifully with the likes of white, gray and even brown. While the yellowy-greens add warmth to the bedroom, the blue-tinged variants bring a touch of coolness along with a vibrant ambiance. Here is a pick of 25 gorgeous bedrooms that incorporate green in a gorgeous fashion.
